One of the most enjoyable aspects of seascape photography, or photography on the beach is the fact that there are so many people who regularly take relaxing walks on the sandy or pebbly beaches.
Therefore, I get my Street Photography fix in a very centralized place.
Dog walkers, friends, families, people who work on the Seafront... there is a plethora of people who can make interesting subjects for Seascape Street Photography or 'Streetscape Photography'. There you go, I've coined a new photography genre ;)
I decided to hike West, along the three mile, rocky coastline that is the majestic, Perranporth Beach, and I came to a cliff side, rock area, where this very characterful fella was standing, looking very proud and windswept, with his canine by his side.
I snapped a few shots with him looking out to sea and the dog looking at me. He didn't seem to have a care in the world and his Fisherman style cap, only added to the Cornish ‘Streetscape photography’ image.
I don't think it would have been as effective if he hadn't been wearing a cap...
And the fact that he was looking out to sea adds to the English romance...
Anyway, the skies were very cloudy that day. Not the greatest conditions for any kind of outdoor photography. But if I decided not to go out because of the weather, I would have never have photographed this lovely man and his dog. There is always a decent image to be had if you are in the right location.
Maybe at some point, I will replace the sky for something more aesthetically pleasing.
It was only after opened the image in Lightroom, did I see the dog running through the water. I'm not sure if he was looking directly at the dog, but I guess it kinds of creates a story... Who's dog was that? Was it his?
Street Photography combined with Seascape photography, , is great because you don't have to travel too far and you are less likely to invade somebody's space as the generally the expanse is so big. Not only that, you get some impressive Seascape images and when you combine the two is when the 'Streetscape magic' happens.
