A little late for Halloween, yet I could not resist creating this homage to Friday the 13th.
My first stab at portrait photography. (Parden the pun).
The trick was getting decent lighting for the curtains. This was achieved by using gridded strobe from below and raking it upwards across the curtains from different heights and angles.
No grids spot for the mask, as even though it was plastic, it sure was reflecting hotspots on the mask. I finally used a square softbox from camera left which created the desired lighting for the hockey mask.
I’m happy with the placement of Jason’s eyes and face, I worked with many different head tilts and angles but thought this was the boldest framing.
The composition is purely experimental.
